Elmer Gunderson 2009
Calling Great Spirit
Professional Category Elmer comes from
Prince George, where he was born and raised. Faces, human and animal, young and old have always fascinated Elmer. There is so much in a
face: the life one has led, or the possibilities of a life yet to come. He strives with each carving to capture not only the
personalities but their experiences of life as well.
His pieces can be found in gardens to galleries, from Canada to Europe and Asia. His 2009 carving, "Calling Great Spirit" graces the
grounds at the Campbell River Hospital.
